He received bikkhu ordination in 1976 in Thailand, came to Britain in 1978 and was part of the original group established Cittaviveka under Ajahn Sumedho in 1979. Ajahn Sucitto helped establish Harnham Vihara in 1981, then Amaravati in 1984, and in 1992 became the third abbot of Cittaviveka, where he remains today.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: left;\"><i>\u201cWhen you handle the present with mindfulness, the future will be conditioned by awareness\u201d<\/i><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: left;\"><i>\u201cSamadhi arises- not of forcing the mind onto the breath but out of a relationship of ease, contentment, trust, and steadiness\u201d <\/i><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: left;\"><i>\u201cTrue relationship is a dynamic experience, isn\u2019t it? It\u2019s not a fixed or static thing. It\u2019s a way of being that involves the openness and the skill to be present with the way it is. If we don\u2019t do that, the relationship becomes distorted with projections. Consider, for example, how many human relationships get distorted because they follow the wrong impulses. \u2018I want you to be this way. You\u2019ve got to be this for me\u2019. As long we\u2019re coming from self-interest we\u2019ll always see things in terms of how we want them to be, and this can only be a very limited perspective.
